Does diet affect skin health?

cbproads

I was amazed to see what I found when I did research on the linking of diet to skin health. It turns out that a good diet is critical to maintaining healthy looking skin. Research has been done on this subject and it turns out that a diet that is rich in minerals and vitamins produces anti-oxidants which give your skin that healthy feel.

Did you know that foods with vitamin a such as spinach, eggs, carrots, milk and fruits such as apricots help in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also helps prevent dry skin. This isn’t me just saying it, it has been researched thoroughly and that’s what the scientists are telling us. Did you also know that citrus fruits like oranges helps in tissue repair and helps in collagen production!!!

But you can’t just focus on vitamins and minerals; there are other things which are needed to maintain healthy skin and body. You also need fatty acids, proteins, omega 3, calcium, iron, zinc, carbohydrates etc. Zinc in particular is crucial to having good healthy skin. If you don’t have enough of this you might get anemic. Water is another thing that is important for good skin as it flushes out toxins and keeps you hydrated. You should drink at least 8 glasses a day plus it’s free so you got nothing to lose.

But like everything you have to sacrifice some things to gain other things. In this case you want to be staying away from junk food, but you can occasionally have it. Every 2 weeks you should treat yourself to pizza or McDonalds but saying this you should try to do exercise alongside it to maintain a healthy weight.
